THE EASIEST PROBLEM IN THE WORLD TO SOLVE

WE HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM, you and me.  It keeps a lot of our pals from joining us, and it's our own fault.  Someone will ask, How far did you go?. And, this is where we blow it...

... we make it look easy.

Oh, I dunno.  About 60 miles.

Think about that for a moment.  For us, on bikes, its sheer joy.

For them, driving 60 miles sounds terrible.  Sitting on a hard wedge, in pajamas, pedaling...

... unthinkable.

They consider the unthinkable, our ho-hum response, and there's no way to convince them that they'll be able to keep up...

... ergo, huge problem.

Of course, we could say we rode 8 miles and it was hard as hell.  They'd believe that.  If we challenged them, they'd be up for it.

Do we lie then?

Nah.

We just debelish, which is a word I made up just now and it means to de-embelish.  Like this:

How far did you go?

About an hour.

Wow!

Yeah, I got a good warm up and cool down. It was actually pretty fun on this little trail or forgotten road.

That is something they'll believe.  Yet another reason to report time vs miles.
