HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
I RAN INTO MY FRIEND'S YOUNGISH SON. He's had a rough start in life. Childhood brain cancer, and all the accompanying complications and challenges. Today, he was excited to share his new training regimen...
... and I listened intently.
I got up at 5am to go to the gym.
Really? (I know he's a big time sleeper inner, this was impressive to me.)
Yes, I'm going to get in good shape.
What inspired this?
I read a book called One Punch, about a hero who makes himself super strong by working out.
Do you have any goals?
Right now I can run a mile in 15 minutes. I want to be able to run 6 miles, like One Punch, without stopping.
I believe he will do it.
He's persistent.
Motivated.
Humble.
A perfect example of why PRs are the best rewards. Far better than any KOM or podium is to reach our own personal potential. If we win one along the way...
... that's cool, too.
