WHAT SHOULD WE MAKE OF PRs?
I RATTLED OFF MORE THAN A FEW PRs TODAY. That's always satisfying, until you dig a little deeper and realize...
... maybe it wasn't all the legit, after all?
For example, right now the trails could not be better.
The ruts are filled in.
Moon dust is gone.
Berms are rebuilt.
The grass is low...
... and the bright green against the brown dirt provides excellent contrast.
In a few months, the grass will be so tall it will block a lot of the site lines.
The berms will be blown out.
The moon dust back, and treacherous.
The ruts will appear, deepen, and swallow wheels.
Right out the gate, I disregarded all of today's downhill PRs. Well, mostly disregarded. Because the fact of the matter is, my upper body and core have never been stronger.
Which leaves the climbs.
The traction was exceptional today, and that certainly aids the effort...
... but, I wasn't pinning it.
I was simply riding tempo.
Barely breathing.
While the PRs are suspect, due to exceptional trail conditions, the fitness is coming along just fine.
Maybe PRs would be better thought of as...
... Pretty Rad vs Personal Record.
Speaking of rad, this is going to be insane.
