WHAT KIND OF SUFFERING DO YOU PREFER?
THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF SUFFERING. The obvious suffering is when we sign up for a race, or join the posse for some ripping around...
... then there is needless suffering.
I was thinking about that today as we PRd a 10 mile segment I've ridden many, many times...
... and yes, I was pulling through like a mofo.
The pace was vicious. 8-10 rotating, 20ish hanging on, and another 10-20 shot out the back...
... I'm still hacking an occasional cough.
That's what I mean by suffering by choice. We all agree to it...
... for the experience is unmatched.
We learn so much from these experiences and wouldn't trade them for the world.
Then, there is needless suffering...
... the kind we do through our own poor choices.
Like, poor:
- Bike maintenance
- Diet choice
- Sleep habits
- Recovery
- Bike fit
- Core work
- Handling skills
- etc
So, if you're down for suffering by choice and avoiding needless suffering on mixed surfaces...

... on May 14-15th, we have an opportunity to address both types of suffering.
On Friday, we're doing a mini mixed-surface training camp.
On Saturday, we're riding from the shores of Dana Point to the slopes of Snow Summit.
Roughly 110 miles, 13,000 of elevation gain.
Mixed surfaces, 40% paved and 60% dirt.
Details are here...
... and yes, you can choose from just coming to the mixed-surface training session to starting out with us to doing the whole insane challenge.
