THE SHIFT WE SAY
MANTRAS ARE WEIRD. The concept goes back centuries, with deep religious ties and the idea of...
... magical or spiritual powers.
Of course, we've co-opted that.
Dressing up our version called self-talk with a fancy sounding word.
But, that's not the point.
The point is,
mantras work.
Words are powerful.
We know this.
So, we find a word or phrase and internalize it.
Then, unleash it for...
- confidence
- endurance
- strength
... when we reel the need.
Here are a few of mine...
- I descend like a god - when I'm really charging.
- No one of consequence - on the start line, trying to keep my confidence under control and masked
- Ain't no stopping The Old Diesel - when I'm alone and far from the finish
... I'm not ashamed to share 'em.
Those are for racing,
there are more for other roles I play on this grand stage of life.
Do you have one, several?
If not,
you might be missing out.
