THE RHYTHM IS GONNA GET YA
ONE OF THE THINGS I MISS ABOUT HAVING A POWER METER is seeing my cadence. Pre-power meter, I would geek out on cadence, then I got a way from it. And then, I got back into it with my previous MTB...
... looking at those revs.
There's something satisfying about seeing that little strip of data. Comforting almost. Easily controlled...
... yes, the rhythm can be easily lost or found.
Sometimes we're blasting up a hill. In the zone. The pitch increases, or maybe it's the lactic burn...
... suddenly, we're going nowhere.
Seemingly backward.
We're tired.
Not thinking.
Just grinding.
That moment right there, yeah... that'd be a good one to see our cadence. Realize it's all wonkadoo..,
... and shift the dern gears.
It's like the magnetic Gloria Estefan says...
... The rhythm is gonna get ya!
The only question is...
... Is it going to be a long grind or a quick zip to the top?
I've found 90 revs a minute to be my sweet spot.
What's yours?
