THE HEART OF RACING IS ON LIFE SUPPORT
IT COULD JUST BE ME, but I don't think it is. The heart of racing has changed. If you've been around a 1000 years, you'll know what I'm talking about. If you're new to bike racing, the heart of the sport is on life support...
... and that's a good thing.
Today's agro group ride was typical of what I'm talking about.
In fact, Rigo and I did just that. We talked.
So did Justin and I, fist bumping the great turnout.
And Patrick and I, he caught me up on his son Luke's winning ways.
And Bart and I, musing on the beautiful morning.
And Steve and I, waving while going in opposite directions.
... you get the idea.
The old days of outward anger and fire and rudeness are being buried. And, before you say
Old Diesel you're mellowing...
... just know there was all kind asskickery going on.
The new way is to kindly rip each other's legs off.
And I like it.
What is the source of the change?
Well, it just might be the influence of the softer, bigger tire sides of the sport. Which are where all the growth is...
... but, I'll let you be the judge on that.

Or, it could be the quest for PRs is outweighing the I'mbetterthanyouare mentality.
That PR thing is something I cover in my new book.
