It's like a hybrid bike but faster, funner, more capable... just the most goto bike you'll ever own, and it will never, ever be collecting dust in the garage.
Which gravel bike should I get?
At that point I knew I could rest. My mission on Earth was complete. I'd saved another soul from the hybrid wasteland.
Do I really believe that? Yeah, I do. My gravel bike gets the most time.
Even though I don't race gravel? That's the point, gravel bikes are for adventure and meandering and just riding where the wind blows...
... they are made for base miles, the zone 2 stuff.

Which one should you get? Doesn't really matter. I wouldn't spend a ton. An old cross bike would do, or an entry level gravel bike.
