WE WERE CHARGING THE BACKROADS EARLY THIS MORNING.  It had been over a month since I'd made the ride, I was excited to test my legs...

By sheer serendipity, my return coincided with the group's first hard ride of the year.  

The offseason truce had ended.

Unplanned.

Unspoken.

Unhinged.

A certain gentleman decided it was time, hit it hard, took a few valiant ones along...

... I felt like the buzzer had rung, and it was time to put down my pencil.

This loser was not going to pass the test.

 

7 days to get a few more answers.

7 weeks until the real exam.

Time to pull my helmet low across my face, 
and move on the back roads.

It's more than that really.  If you're still reading I'll tell ya how it really is.  I'm pissed, shocked, hacked off!  Eff those guys.  Showing off their early season fitness.  Eff their backslapping at the finish.  Their cat ate the bird smiles.  Their patronizing Nice job Diesel. Eff it all.  I'm gonna tighten up the diet, lengthen the miles, pump the weights, recover like no other.  Eff y'all...
