TAKE NO PITY ON ME
PULLING ON MY CHEST STRAP THIS MORNING I WAS STABBED BY A SHARP THORN, remnants of yesterday's digger. I'd gone down on a slippery piece of single track...
... early in the ride, there was now way I was stopping.
I took stock, straightened my bars, and rode on.
Thorns covered my left side and the right wrist hurt pretty good...
... blood oozed into my sock for bonus points.
That was a nice follow up to Saturday's unsealable flat, where I could only keep just enough PSI to soft pedal the last 5 or so miles. Airing up, then borrowing pumps along the way.
It was also a solid hint of today's complete shattering.
We'd managed to ride south to the bottom of the first hill before the boys from down that way hit it...
... that was the plan.
Also in the plan, was to hit that hill hard.
But, when 2 kids from LEGION and a handful of champs snuck off the front...
... well, they were gone.
So much for that.
3 days, 3 unexpected detours.
One could weep, Wo is me...
... but, that ain't what we do here.
We recover and plan for more exceptional days.
Before you go, let me point out the not so obvious...
... these are the kinds of things that happen at the end of a big training block.
Rest up, buttercup!

Got a cool pic of our gloves for Origin Cycling today...
... let's be honest, with VMO's like that you really do need a firm grip on the bars.
It's good to see our SuperLight gloves are up to the test.
... and yes, you can still get the buy 2 get 1 offer.
