THERE ARE A LOT OF WAYS TO GO FASTER, most involve a lot more time training and more money. Some of those are simple experience. Take my pal Senor Suave, while a rocket on any bike he keeps losing time MTB racing.
For example, he did one of his first legit MTB races recently. Everything was on schedule except his bladder. Most races this is not a big deal, but experienced MTB racers would never make this mistake...
... and when he came back to line up, the corral was full and he found himself 50 people back in the pack.
Line up early.
But, that yellowhighliter ain't my point today.
This little gem requires a teenyweeny bit of time, and maybe a couple of bucks - maybe...
... and I'll be doing it this Saturday.
Preride the race course.
The more you can preride, the faster you'll go.
You're going to be riding anyway, so ride the course.
Figure out places
that suite your strength
tricky sections until their easy
and so on and so on and so on
until when you're on it,
you own it!
What if the course is far away?
Get there a day or two early.
What if it's just a 4 corner crit?
Ride 'em 4 thousand times.
Which is exactly what Senor Suave did passing 45ish people, finishing fourth.
I predict a podium in the very near future for him.
I also predict a few of you are gonna wanna jump on this before the price goes up.
