I'M A LOCAL LEGEND... LAAAAAAAAAME.

DID STRAVA JUST BECOME THE KING OF PARTICIPATION TROPHIES?  Sheesh.  It works like this, if you ride a segment more than anybody else for a month you're the Local Legend.

Is there a weaker, lamer metric to track?

C'mon Strava... who's in charge over there?  Some punk who had a graduating kindergarten ceremony?  A kid who's soccer team never one a game but made sure everybody got something like Most Improved At Trying Hard?

How many of you are the Local Legend of the only way to get out of your neighborhood?  

That ain't for us.

We're for PRs... preferably unaided by wind and groups... but PRs nonetheless.

... for winning actual races... climbing up on an actual podium.

... for smoking our pals to the city limit signs.

The only legend we want is to be known for being committed to doing our very best.  Every.  Single.  Day.  And we don't need no stinking trophy for that, because we know it and those around us know it.  It shows in all we do.

This is why I always say PRs are better than KOMs.
