HOW FAR AHEAD SHOULD WE BE LOOKING?

WHETHER IN A TIGHTLY BUNCHED ROAD GROUP or slicing and dicing the explosive start of an XC race, I never trust the riders ahead... ... I'm always looking as far ahead as possible. It's a habit and it has kept me out of a lot of trouble because the riders ahead don't always call things out, even if they see them. I've found the racers who are the most successful look the farthest ahead. Not just in the race... ... in everything, especially the calendar. They aren't just looking at next week's race or next month's.
