HAVE I EVER TOLD YOU THAT YOU (DON'T HAVE TO BE) MY HERO?
IT WAS LIKE SCALES FALLING FROM HIS OAKLEY'S. Finally, he could see his heroic pulls on the front of our group rides were great for everybody but him. It only took about 2 years...
... and tomorrow might christen a new era.
I say might because the pull to pull hard and long is intoxicating.
I predict this cat is going to need all 12 steps to ween him off this bad adrenaline drip aka Hey, look at me pulling all the big train.
We're all out there for our daily dose, our racer's high. The only question this cat needs to answer is this...
... Do I want to pull hard early and get dropped or be smart and punish these cats when it counts?
There really isn't a right answer. Both are exhilarating... neither includes any Wheelsuckery.
But, I've experienced this particular cat dropping me on the way to meet the group and making me hurt after the real racing is done and we're headed back home.
Let me just posit, if he uses his power judiciously and truly experiences the real rush of finishing with the lead group he'll never, ever go back to his backward ways.
We'll see manana.
Want to know something funny... the 50 or so who regularly do this ride will be wondering...
... Is he writing about me?
To which I say...
... I don't know, am I?
One person I'm not writing about is my pal Chuck, who scored a new pair of Fizik MTB shoes.
How did he score them? Like this...
... Hey, can you get these?
Yep. Size?
43.
Done.
That's the easy part... the sweet part is saving 25% because he's part of the PEDALposse.
