DO YOU HAVE CURB APPEAL?
AT SOME POINT TOMORROW MORNING THINGS WILL GET DICEY. Not on the way up the coast. Not up the 20ish minute climb. Not the lazy run around BackBay or up the river trail.
No... about 2 hours in, we'll connect with the oftenfearsome Food Park ride.
The pace will go from spirited tempo to rather quite very extra frisky.
From shoulder to shoulder chatter to bar banging silence.
At that point, I'll do something that early on seemed death defying... but, now seems commonplace and comfortable...
... cement surfing, with whirling pedals an inch or so from the unforgiving curb.
I can't even tell you when it went from Oh shyte, hang on! to Excuse me, pardon me, just moving up here... don't mean to be a bother.
But it did happen.
And, it's been a handy little tool in the handbag of handy ways to move up in the pack.
Of course, ya have to be confident to do it... which is why a prefer to ride with fullfinger gloves.
Not just any glove.
But a very lightweight glove, one you don't even know is there except for the fact that the connection from hand to bar is even better than bare skin.
It's tackier.
Firmer.
Like this glove.
