COMES A TIME
WE ALL HAVE OUR LIMITS TO JUST HOW MUCH TRAINING WE CAN REALLY DO. Focused, committed, nose to the bar grinding. Then, comes a time...
... and we're drifting.
Don't wanna do it no more.
We're done.
I'm there now.
10 weeks is 'bout all I can handle.
I'm 9 weeks in.
This is always the week when I'm most tiredest, when the joy of a quick rip around town...
... turns to work.
And, it's right where I want to be.
10 days out from back to back 3-day stage races.
After this week, there's nothing left to do but recover and prep the bikes and gear.
But, there is still this week.
It was freezing this morning. A chilling wind blowing in off the ocean. Scattered squalls punching, pummeling and pouring.
I wanted to stay inside, instead I met up with a few other crazies, and pushed it hard. With a mile to go, we were trading pulls and working out the sprint.
I needed this test of speed...
... not the flat tire on a lonely road.
Bonus points for not brining my phone.
That's when you know it's coming to an end, When you go out regardless of desire and deal with a shifty hand...
... and then go out at sunset to make up the lost riding time.
Can't wait to go racing.
