This off season, I've added quite a bit of weight training to my schedule.  At least for me it's a lot.  The key is...

... to have good form.

Good form means we won't get hurt.

But, we can sure fry our legs without even riding.  This has made it much easier to stay in zone two.

Concurrently, I've been hyper focused on my riding form when on the bike logging these easyish base miles.  Specifically, my pedal stroke.  The proverbial...

... pedaling in circles.

Pushing forward along the top,
pressing down,
scraping mud off my shoes across the bottom,
pulling back up to the top.

I've also been working particularly hard at getting my ankles back involved.  Somehow I'd lost a lot of flexibility and was just mashing down. Hence, I've been doing all kinds of exercises to get them back in the game and whipping across the bottom of the pedal stroke.

Anyway, consider this a public service announcement.  While everybody else is just pedaling...
