33 YRS OF TRYING TO GET THIS PR
THE MORE CHALLENGING THE TERRAIN, the easier it is to snag a PR the second time around. And the third. And fourth. Right up until the time we are really on the sliding edge...
... where things get a bit dicey.
It could be the final turn before a sprint finish. The first time through we are scrubbing speed, exiting and getting on the pedals. Each subsequent effort less braking, more momentum, faster finish.
Or a steep gravely descent. The first brush feels loose and skiddish. We overtense, overbrake which leads to undercontrol. But, we get the feel of looseness and where to have our weight, we drop down with speed and ease.
You get the idea.
PRs are there for the taking. Every go, and we go faster. Our bodies memorize the course.
What was difficult becomes unconsciously effortless.
Commitment to getting it right by doing it over and over again brings about our very best effort.
There are crashes along the way.
Pushing too hard, missing the blind turn, improperly tuned suspension, incorrectly inflated tires. The list of where we can improve is nearly endless.
Which brings me to today's anniversary...
... 33 years together, a lot of missed turns, poorly approached jumps, scrapes and bruises along the way...
... but Surfergirl and I are still at it, snagging the occasional PR that really matters.
If there's one thing I've learned from racing, it's to improve from my failures and make them strengths.
Like this failure from a bottle manufacturer. The business actually started in the late 80's. Was sold to a company out in Texas. Sold again to a local company who couldn't master imprinting the bottles.
We win!
I scored the remaining inventory. The were going to throw it away. But, we don't toss our failures aside do we?
I mean these are wonderful bottles. Made in USA. Just unprintable by current owner of a very large and diversified business.
So, I purchased all 5000.
They are going fast.
Which is typical of things around here. Ride Fast is a motto of ours.

But don't take my word for it, watch the video
Normally I'd have some promo code, however this is already super sweet.
All prices include shipping..., crazy, right? Supplies are limited.
$7 for 1 bottle
$19 for 4 bottles
$ 48 for 12 bottles
$ 75 for 24 bottles
$100 for 48 bottles <- this option is going away soon.
PS. They wanted to do custom imprints on the bottles and couldn’t get the ink to stick. That’s the reason for closing out them out... these bottles will be blank.
