What is shipping insurance?

I have no clue why this insurance exists. What is its benefit? If I notice it, I try to unselect it.

Between my partner and myself we have 3 of their bags ...
My advice is to size up ...I have the pro and then got a tri bag forw running gear ...less gear smaller bag ...right ? Nope - wished I wound have sized up
